But over the summer and into next season, the OTB podcast is going to discover the (un)official answer to this with the help of Norwich City fans, including you!

It’s all relatively straightforward: pick your greatest (or favourite) 25 players in order from 1st to 25th. You can do that by heading here to vote.

Your first choice gets 25 points, second gets 24 points, all the way down to one point for the guy in 25th. Once all the votes are in and the scores have been totted up, we’ll be counting them down on the OTB podcast throughout the 2026/27 season until we find out who you’ve voted as the greatest.

How to define ‘greatest’? Well that’s very much in the eye of the beholder. You can choose the most talented players, the best club servants, the greatest cult heroes, the ones who were most polite when you asked them for a selfie outside Boots, or a combination of all of the above. It is, as all good votes should be, entirely up to you.

Exactly 200 Norwich City players have put on the yellow and green on 20 or more occasions since 1st January 2000 and they’re the players you’ll be choosing from - so this is one vote Harry Kane can’t win. From Aarons to Zimmermann, they’re all in a dropdown list for each position from 1-25, so scroll down until you find them. There’s a list with all the names and a bit of info to help you if you’ve understandably not committed the last 26 years to memory.

Votes for the same player within your 25 will not be counted twice. The voting will be open until shortly before the start of the 2026/27 season proper, so you can give your picks some serious consideration. Our recommendation is get yourself a pen and paper...or don’t if you just want to rattle through it in five minutes.

And, if you’re having any issues or have any questions, tweet me at @ncfcnumbers or leave a comment below and I’ll resolve to get back to you when my hectic executive lifestyle allows!

Remember, with great power comes great responsibility – and every vote counts. Good luck!

(And here’s that link again!)

Thank you for reading! We had a right good laugh at that, didn’t we. Hahaha what a fool. Relegation? What was he thinking? 18 points clear, pal!

Special mention: All those Bristol City fans who kept telling us in the summer that Liam Manning wasn’t actually that great, actually, and his football is really boring, actually. What the heck did they know!

Shane Duffy Being Shane Duffy of the Season

It could very easily be those two times Duffy ended up on the floor pretending it was Vlad’s fault for not coming for the ball. I mean, what did we expect Duffy to do in those situations? Run? Defend? Admit culpability? Not his style. Instead: Lay on the ground for a bit and see if anyone notices.

But, let’s be honest, the award has to go to that time he took to Twitter to call a Norwich fan a knob. Or was it a gimp? Or both? Yes, it was both.

Goodbye, Shane Duffy, you’ll always have that time you were papped kissing a woman while dressed up as Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz. Thanks for the memories.

Newspaper Headline of the Season

Not one headline, but two. Both, remarkably, from the same day back in October, in the Eastern Daily Press:

“Norwich City player calls fan a k**b in late-night rant after ANOTHER defeat.”

and

“Club insists controversial stadium plans WILL go ahead even if Canaries are relegated.”

What. A. Season.

Sustainability Initiative of the Season

Mark Attanasio flying from the US to the UK and back in a couple of days just because Ben Knapper didn’t want to be interviewed on the Scrimmage.

Special mention: Those City Stand floodlights, reopening the hole in the ozone layer one match at a time.

Our Recently Signed Midfielder Did What? Of the Season

A toss-up between two moments. First, Pelle Mattsson helping an opposition player with cramp while a) the ball was in play b) the opposition were attacking and c) we were losing (and yes, I’m saying ‘opposition’ because I can’t remember who it was against and three minutes of googling hasn’t helped, sorry).

Second, Mirko Topic playing No.10 for us at Portman Road. It didn’t work.

Mass Protest of the Season

“We ask every supporter to take part in throwing a tennis ball on the pitch in protest against the current ownership at the club and the decisions being taken,” read a statement from fan group 1902 ahead of Norwich’s match against Hull in October.

It’s probably fair to say the message didn’t quite resonate with “every supporter”, though. Five lonely tennis balls apologetically plopped onto the playing surface 19 minutes into the game, generating as much on-pitch impact as Liam Manning’s insistence on playing three at the back.

Depressing side note: This season, as many tennis balls were thrown onto the Carrow Road pitch as goals were scored at home under Manning.

Sad Little Lives of the Season

Could’ve been Sargent. Could’ve been Duffy. Could’ve been Nunez. But, on their own, none of those choices felt bitter enough, so instead I’ve just picked “Ipswich Town”, with particular mentions for this motley crew:

Marcelino Nunez, the man-child who has all the acumen of someone who’s managed to get their head wedged in a revolving door again; captain Dara O’Shea, whose teeth could be used to permanently light the port of Felixstowe; manager Kieran McKenna, who has such little personality it is impossible to imagine him smelling of anything but damp; and chairman Mark Ashton, the Farage-fluffer who struts around like a bearded can of Lynx Africa. And then there’s easy listening pop Goblin Ed Sheeran, who seems harmless enough, but then you remember the club literally gave him a squad number, and then you also remember his music is shit, and then you also remember he doesn’t really support them anyway.

Rebirth of the Season

Anis Ben Slimane, hey? From transfer listed to pulling off one of the most outrageous assists you’ll ever see, this truly was the comeback none of us saw coming. Sure, he sometimes looks like he doesn’t know how to use both of his legs at the same time, but that’s just part of the charm.

Family Man of the Season

Toronto FC flop Josh Sargent, who very nobly showed his kids how to get what you want: by pissing all over your colleagues, showing zero regard for the people who support you, and giving the middle finger to the people who pay your wages.

Kenny McLean Moment of the Season

For Scotland fans, it’ll obviously be Kenny audaciously scoring from the halfway line to send his country to the World Cup. Truly the stuff dreams are made of.

For Norwich fans (and with apologies to the free-kick he scored against Preston), it’ll be that time he helped Vlad save Adam Armstrong’s penalty by waving his arms to create a shadow over the penalty spot. We love you, Kenny.

Heartwarming Moment of the Season

Can you imagine how Tony Gary Springett must have felt when he scored in front of the Barclay in the FA Cup win over Walsall? Between April 20th, 2024 and December 6th, 2025, he hadn’t played a minute of professional football. Injuries had ravaged him, and his career was on the line. Yet, somehow, he’d recovered from spinal surgery – surgery of the actual spine! – to make his comeback, and here he was, lapping in the love of Carrow Road after netting his first goal in 23 months.

The moment of the season. Go well, Tony Gary.

Football Club of the Season

Norwich City, of course.

Thank you for reading!
